HOT SHOT DISPATCH SERVICE FOR OPERATORS AND FLEET MANAGERS
If you’re in the business of delivering small but urgent shipments, you need a reliable dispatcher for hot shot services. Hot shot truck drivers provide key services to their customers, and Castrolhdl provides the support you need to get the job done successfully. Our prompt response ensures that all paperwork is handled properly. We’ll confirm the rate and location, give you the information, and have you on your way in no time. If you’re a fleet owner/operator or fleet manager, our reliable hot trucking dispatch services can help you save money, maintain your reputation, and secure your livelihood.
WHAT ARE HOT SHOT DISPATCH SERVICES?
Hot shot trucking has a difference from expedited delivery services. With expedited delivery, vans, trucks and other vehicles and their drivers are on standby. With hot shot dispatch, the truck drivers go to a bulletin board and determine the location of the shipment and the route themselves. Drivers don’t have to wait until they are given an assignment and choose only the loads they want to move.
WHO NEEDS HOT SHOT TRUCKING?
At Castrolhdl, we work with both individual owners/operators and fleet managers who offer hot-shot trucking services. The owners/operators own their trucks and determine their own schedule. If you have a regular route and customers, but need to make some extra money, then hotshot work is the best option. Fleet managers who want to increase their company’s range of services and reduce truck and driver downtime also choose our hotshot driver dispatch service.
WHAT ARE THE ADVANTAGES OF WORKING IN HOTSHOT MODE?
When a company needs to move cargo urgently, it pays a higher rate. The temporary nature of the job means that a truck driver who has a flexible schedule and can be available at any time can expect higher payouts. However, finding such work can be problematic if you don’t choose the best dispatch services. Companies trust us at Castrolhdl, we provide them with safe, timely and reliable truck drivers for emergency deliveries. Your ability to make rush deliveries can help you get more work and increase your overall income. You can also benefit from premium routes and eliminate gaps in your schedule when you would otherwise be idle.
WHAT KIND OF TRUCKS DO YOU NEED TO DELIVER «HOT SHOTS»?
When customers call our dispatcher looking for drivers, they primarily look for medium-duty trucks with flatbed trailers. 1 ton trucks are the most commonly used type of truck in hot deliveries. If you have a U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT) number and an operating license, you can take these loads. Some Castrolhdl customers require other classes of trucks, including Types 3, 4 and 5. If you have one of the trucks listed below, you can offer hotshot driving services:
Class 3: 10,001 to 14,000 pounds. Trucks that meet this requirement include Chevrolet Silverado 3500, GMC Sierra 3500, Ram 3500 and Ford F-350.Class 4: 14,001 to 16,000 pounds. Trucks that meet this requirement include the Ram 4500, Chevrolet Silverado 4500 and Ford F-450.Class 5: 16,001 to 19,500 pounds. Trucks in this category include the Ford F-550, Ram 5500 and Chevrolet Silverado 5500. Class 5 commercial trucks include the International TerraStar, Kenworth T170 and Peterbilt 325.
WHAT TYPES OF TRAILERS ARE USED FOR HOT SHOT DRIVING?
The type of trailer you will need for hotshot driving depends on the specifics of the cargo to be delivered to the customer. Our dispatcher for hotshot trucking finds out this information from the client and specifies it in the ad. You won’t have to guess what kind of truck or trailer you need in order to successfully handle the job. Some of the types of trailers that our dispatch companies use for hotshot are as follows:
— Bumper pulls: These are small trailers with a capacity of less than 10,001 pounds. They are suitable for small, compact loads: These trailers have a small turning radius and minimal sway.- Tilt pad: This type of trailer makes it easier to load heavy loads.- Lowboy: This type of trailer has a low center of gravity, which allows for safe transport of heavy loads.- Dovetail: This budget trailer makes it affordable to start hotshot style driving.
At Castrolhdl, customer service is our top priority. We work hard to negotiate the best rate and provide loads and routes of your choice. The final decision is always yours. With our truck dispatch services, you don’t have to worry about whether or not you’re getting a fair charge for the job. We’ll make sure your truck is filled and help you increase your income.
